The president of FIFA commented on the beating of the Turkish football referee

FIFA President Gianni Infantino condemned the attack on referee Halil Umut Meler after the Ankaragucu-Caykur Rizespor match in the Turkish Super League.

Gianni Infantino said in his statement that this attack is unacceptable.

"There is no place for violence in football, on or off the football field. "What happened after the Ankaragücü - Chaykur Rizespor match in the Super League is unacceptable in sports and society," he stressed.
